Engineering Project Manager
We seek an experienced Engineering Project Manager to join our team as part of the Thames Water Asset Integrity Team. The Engineering Project Manager will play a vital role in reacting to the operational assets, which have failed and are not providing complete service to our communities and customers.
What you’ll be doing as an Engineering Project Manager
1. Managed and delivered a portfolio of mechanical, electrical, civil, control and instrumentation projects valued at up to £5 million annually.
2. Working closely with Thames Water operations, including Process Improvement Engineers and our contractor supply chain, to scope, specify, and cost-quality solutions that are fit for purpose and value for money.
3. Ability to think quickly, decisively, challenge and develop interim reactive RTO solutions while working collaboratively with Operations, Process Improvement Engineers, and supply chain to minimise the impact on the business.
4. Actively promote our zero-compromise attitudes to health and safety, always striving for continuous improvement.
5. Comply with Health and Safety requirements, ensuring that all projects built and designed comply with the Construction Design and Management Regulations (CDM).
6. Collaborate with delivery partners/contractors to ensure that schemes are delivered on time, minimising the risk to the business.
7. Drafting, vetting, and approving RAMS, pre-construction information, project plans, construction phase H&S plans (CPP) and commissioning plans.
8. Overseeing the commissioning and handover of the project to the operational client.
9. Ensuring appropriate training has been completed and completion documents are available and handed over, including test certificates and constructed drawings.
What you should bring to the role
Requirements:
* Hold an HNC/HND or a degree in Engineering.
* Be technically and commercially astute, with a proven engineering background.
* Ability to investigate, scope and specify engineering solutions for plant modernisation and refurbishment.
* Demonstrate an uncompromising approach to H&S backed by industry-recognised and appropriate training and competence. Comply with all relevant H&S legislation and regulations.
