Responsibilities
* Receive thorough training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) based at the University of Reading (UoR).
* Gain clinical experience through Bucks Talking Therapies and supervision from university and placement teams.
* Attend the UoR Post Graduate Diploma in Evidence Based Psychological Treatments from February 2026; travel to Reading regularly for training year.
* Deliver evidence-based psychological therapies in person or online, individually or in groups, as part of Bucks Talking Therapies.
* Participation in supervision, management oversight, and opportunities for ongoing training and career development.
* Meet BABCP accreditation requirements through the training pathway and complete required competencies.
Qualifications
Essential
* Core health profession as defined by BABCP
* Experience of working in a mental health service
* Ability to meet service targets and manage own caseload
Desirable
* Relevant degree (e.g., Psychology BSc/MSc)
* Experience delivering CBT-based interventions under supervision
* Experience in Primary Care or health systems in the UK
Knowledge
Essential
* Understanding of anxiety and depression and how it presents in Primary Care
* Knowledge of medications used in anxiety and depression
* Commitment to evidence-based psychological therapies
* Risk assessment experience within scope of practice
* Strong written communication skills
Desirable
* Fluency in languages other than English
* Understanding of work-related mental health issues
Job Details
* Band: Band 6 during training, moving to Band 7 on successful completion of the course (with eligibility conditions)
* Salary: £38,682 to £46,580 per annum
* Contract: Permanent
