Commercial Gas Engineer ? Field-Based | Maintenance Department ? We're recruiting for an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join a growing Maintenance team. Reporting directly to the PPM Contracts Manager, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality planned and reactive maintenance services across a diverse portfolio of sites. The Opportunity This is a hands-on, field-based role where no two days are the same. You'll be trusted to: Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) Respond to reactive callouts and breakdowns Diagnose and repair faults across commercial heating systems Carry out minor project works Maintain accurate site and compliance documentation (digital and hard copy) Participate in an out-of-hours emergency call-out rota Supervise engineering apprentices when required Manage van stock and specialist components You'll also have the opportunity to broaden your knowledge across mechanical and electrical building services and develop professionally within a structured and accredited environment. What We're Looking For Essential Qualifications & Certifications: Completed recognised apprenticeship in Gas/Mechanical Engineering (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) Current commercial gas qualifications including: COCN1 CODNCO1 ICPN1 CDGA1 CIGA1 CORT1 ICAE1/LS TPCP1A / TPCP1 Full UK driving licence Essential Experience & Skills: Strong experience in fault finding, rectification and planned maintenance Solid knowledge of commercial heating systems Sound understanding of Health & Safety legislation and safe systems of work Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications Strong communication skills (written and verbal) Good IT literacy (MS Office, Outlook, digital reporting systems) Self-motivated, solution-focused and able to work independently Desirable: Experience across domestic, industrial and commercial environments Mechanical services, plumbing and heating background Enhanced DBS (can be arranged) What You Can Expect Basic salary circa £60,000 Structured role within an ISO-accredited business (9001, 14001, 45001) Supportive leadership and collaborative team environment Varied workload across multiple client sites Professional development opportunities A company culture focused on safety, compliance and customer excellence This role requires flexibility, including agreed out-of-hours work and participation in an emergency call-out rota.
