As we continue to grow and expand our partnerships and event portfolio, we are now looking for an ambitious Head Chef to lead our culinary team and shape the next phase of our journey.
Role Description
The Head Chef will lead the culinary team at Saltire Hospitality and oversee all kitchen operations, preparing high-quality dishes that highlight Scottish produce.
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Loanhead. Key responsibilities include developing creative menus, supervising food preparation, maintaining kitchen hygiene standards, managing food costs, and collaborating with local suppliers.
The Head Chef will also inspire and mentor team members to ensure consistent quality and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Culinary Leadership
Lead and inspire a high-performing kitchen team
Set the standard for quality, presentation and consistency
Build a strong, positive and professional kitchen culture
Menu Development & Innovation
Create seasonal menus that showcase Scottish produce
Develop bespoke offerings for corporate events, weddings and large-scale catering
Balance creativity with operational efficiency
Operational & Compliance Oversight
Oversee food preparation, logistics and event execution
Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene and H&S regulations
Maintain exceptional standards across high-volume services
Commercial & Supplier Management
Manage food costs, margins and stock control
Strengthen supplier relationships
Work closely with senior leadership on forecasting and growth
About You
We're looking for a confident, experienced culinary leader who thrives in fast-paced, high-standard environments.
You'll likely bring:
Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef, ready to step up
Strong leadership and team development skills
Solid commercial awareness and cost control experience
A passion for Scottish produce and modern, creative menus
The ability to perform under pressure while maintaining high standards
Culinary qualifications are advantageous, but attitude, leadership and experience matter most.
