Meet The Team
We're strengthening our FP&A team, broadening its remit to cover Group stress testing and forecasting activities, and facilitating opportunities to leverage the power of the Group.
The team you will join, Society Cost Management Group Financial Performance, consists of 6 colleagues working with financial business partners, business lines, and executive teams.
Our core role is to understand, report, and forecast business performance, identify risks and opportunities, and explain the impact of actions with insight to help achieve strategic goals through strong cost discipline.
Turning data into insight, insight into action, and action into customer satisfaction is central to all we do.
What Will You Be Doing?
* Lead cost management, partnering, budgeting/forecasting, and month-end cost reporting.
* Understand business priorities and needs, leading the cost team to meet these.
* Track and manage all threats and opportunities to the cost base.
* Ensure all costs are applied accurately with proper postings.
* Ensure month-end activities are proportionate and add value.
* Maintain accuracy of results with strong communication with accounting teams.
* Review processes continually to ensure quality of services.
* Deliver excellent service to internal customers.
What Do We Need From You?
* Strong communication skills to interpret and explain accounting and technical matters clearly.
* Excellent planning, analytical, and modelling skills to understand and challenge complex models.
* Flexibility and drive to support a changing, growing business.
* Proactive, enthusiastic, self-starter attitude.
* Good commercial understanding to translate operational plans into financial outcomes.
* High attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality outputs.
* Experience in cost management, preferably in financial services.
* Ability to develop effective working relationships and collaborate within the team and wider business.
* Strong leadership skills to gain trust and respect from your team and senior management.
* Ideally, a professional accounting qualification (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) with proven post-qualification experience.
