Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor
Location: Based in Kirkby-in-Ashfield, with regular travel to project sites across the South of England
Salary: £45,000 + Car or Car Allowance

D7 Recruitment is partnering with a leading UK ground engineering company to find an experienced Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor. This key role involves engaging across major infrastructure and housing projects, focusing on safety, compliance, and proactive management.
About the Role
This role is based at the company’s head office in Kirkby-in-Ashfield, with regular travel to sites throughout the South of England. As the main contact for HSE matters within the Piling, Housing, and Rail divisions, you will help foster a strong safety culture at all levels.
Reporting to the Senior HSE Manager, you will have autonomy to manage your workload, plan site visits, and support both on-site and office teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation, CDM regulations, and company policies
2. Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments regularly
3. Lead toolbox talks, safety briefings, and meetings
4. Investigate incidents and near misses, and communicate lessons learned
5. Provide HSE guidance to project and site management teams
6. Assist in developing and reviewing RAMS
7. Promote a proactive safety culture by engaging with the workforce
8. Liaise with clients and stakeholders on HSE issues
9. Support pre-construction risk assessments and compliance planning
Required Skills & Experience
1. At least 5 years’ experience in a HSE advisory role within construction, civil engineering, or rail sectors
2. NEBOSH National General Certificate or Construction Certificate
3. Strong knowledge of CDM regulations and UK health & safety law
4. Valid CSCS card
5. Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to project sites in the South
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
