The Governors of our happy, successful school wish to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team. We are looking to appoint someone who: • Is able to complement teachers’ delivery of the national curriculum and contribute to the development of other support staff, pupils, school policies and strategies; • Can work both independently and collaboratively with teaching staff in the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources. Also to deliver learning to individuals, small groups and whole classes as and when required within agreed systems of supervision; • Can provide support for pupils, the teacher and the school in order to raise standards of achievement for all, by utilising advanced levels of knowledge and skills when assisting with planning, monitoring, assessing and managing classes; • Will encourage pupils to become independent learners, to provide support for their welfare, and to support the inclusion of pupils in all aspects of school life. Calculation of term time only plus two weeks’ pay Term time only plus two additional weeks’ pay is calculated on the basis of the following: • Number of ‘teaching’ weeks – 38 weeks; plus • Public (bank) holidays – 1.6 weeks (8 days); plus • Two additional weeks, inclusive of CPD – 2 weeks; plus • Individual leave entitlement - 5.4 weeks (27 days) or 6.4 weeks (32 days) Individual leave entitlement is calculated on the length of continuous service. Employees with less than 5 years’ service will receive 27 days annual leave. Employees with more than 5 years’ service will receive 32 days annual leave.
