Orbital Recruitment is seeking an experienced Project Manager for our client in Derby. The ideal candidate must have previous experience in Structural Steel. We are looking for a project manager capable of managing multiple complex projects from initiation to completion.
You will lead projects through all stages of the project lifecycle, from planning to delivery. If you thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and can maintain focus under pressure, you might be the perfect fit.
As a project manager, you will be a key member of our team, responsible for establishing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and time management skills, along with a keen attention to detail.
Salary: £35,000 - £42,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Responsibilities
1. Participate in project planning sessions to set goals, define timelines, and outline necessary resources.
2. Select and manage internal and external team members and subcontractors.
3. Monitor project progress, address issues, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
4. Use tracking tools to coordinate project elements.
5. Follow standard project management processes as defined by APM or PMI.
6. Organize regular status and review meetings, including generating and distributing minutes.
7. Identify potential constraints and develop solutions to manage them.
8. Design risk management plans to minimize disruptions.
9. Manage budgets and ensure compliance with procurement processes.
10. Oversee all project documentation, including contracts.
11. Maintain adherence to company branding and communication standards.
12. Participate in tendering processes.
13. Manage project portfolios, schedules, budgets, and resources using tools like Gantt charts.
14. Report project status, challenges, and resolutions to management and stakeholders.
15. Conduct project reviews and prepare detailed reports for executive management.
16. Ensure all project deliverables meet deadlines and client expectations.
17. Identify opportunities for process improvement and initiate new projects.
Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in project management, business, or related field.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Proven experience managing projects through all lifecycle phases.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software like Microsoft Project or Primavera.
* Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and leadership skills.
* Highly organized with attention to detail.
* Ability to analyze issues systematically and develop practical solutions.
* Creative thinking and flexibility.
* Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects effectively.
* Strong stakeholder management skills.
* Knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices.
