We're searching for an exceptional Assistant Director of Nursing to join our team,. This is a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of nursing practice across our Community Mental Health Service Line.

Within the Community Mental Health Service Line, you'll work closely with the Deputy Director of Community and Urgent Care Mental Health Services and Head of Operations, in the delivery of the highest standard/quality of care for users of our service. Your leadership will be central to fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and providing motivational guidance to our clinical teams. With your support, we aim to create an organisational climate where every individual can contribute to their fullest potential, aligned with our commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.


Main duties of the job

As Assistant Director of Nursing, you'll lead service development and transformation initiatives, advocating for service re-design to enhance service user experience.

Your expertise will ensure that delivery plans are compatible and will maximise opportunities for more efficient working in addition to promoting staff empowerment and accountability for service improvement at a local level. Moreover, you'll champion innovation and best practices, driving the adoption of new technologies and methodologies to improve service delivery and patient outcomes. With your guidance, our clinical teams will embrace a culture of continuous improvement, professional development, and lifelong learning.

Person Specification


Qualifications

* Registered Nurse
* Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
* Evidence of on-going professional development
* Specialist knowledge in a range of community health services
* Masters level qualification or appropriate theoretical knowledge
* Management or leadership qualification at postgraduate level or equivalent experience


Knowledge & Experience

* Comprehensive experience in a senior management role (Band 8B or above) in the NHS or large multi functional public or commercial environment
* Experience of reporting to Executive Directors
* Able to demonstrate extensive resource management within an operational environment including clinical service provision, finance, HR, change management and modernisation
* Demonstrate an understanding of the impact on service provision of the NHS "forward plan" and local STP strategies delivered through the Provider Alliance
* Experience of developing business plans which support corporate and divisional objectives
* Proven ability to work in a challenging Performance Management environment delivering on targets within agreed timescales
* A sound knowledge of clinical governance
* Sound knowledge of the patient safety framework and risk management
* Management experience of large and complex services or commissioning significant service change
* Experience of leadership and management of complex change in a large organisation
* Current experience of strategic and operational responsibility for delivery of community health services
* Broad knowledge across a range of clinical areas, the wider NHS and future challenges within public sector services
* Knowledge and understanding of change management and quality improvement theory
* Experience of management of large and complex services or commissioning significant service change
* Experience of working successfully in a pressurised and unpredictable environment
