Department Overview: Mass Attribute and optimization across all platforms, engaging with all Engineering functions to collate status of model variants and implement optimization of complete vehicle. Set targets and tracking status against commodities and issuing of vehicle loading charts to support all programmes. Job Purpose: The purpose of this role is to support the delivery of the Mass, Centre of Gravity and Inertial properties for current and future programs. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Use benchmark data to develop targets for Mass, Centre of Gravity and Inertial properties to support attribute teams. Review vehicle & systems with programme application engineers to highlight sensitivity of mass status and mass distribution on vehicle attributes. Develop, document and report status against targets, highlighting consequences of package options, across vehicle attribute group. Work closely with the vehicle attribute and application engineers to ensure vehicle meets mass targets. Assist Mass Attribute Lead identifying and developing potential mass saving opportunities for current and future programmes. Write Engineering Reports to support the above. Support Mass Attribute Lead writing processes/procedures as required. Support relevant PMT/PAT meetings as required. Follow Aston Martin MISSION product creation process and ensure all required information and actions are completed according to agreed programme cost, time and quality contract. Experience and Qualifications: Proven experience working in Mass management within an Automotive OEM or Automotive components supplier. A working knowledge of Teamcenter and NX would be desirable. Previous experience working in cross functional teams, preferably in a Vehicle Integration role. Engineering degree or equivalent with a materials or vehicle attribute bias desirable. Chartered engineer Skills and Behaviours: Collaborative across all function levels. Comfortable working to deadlines and holding others to account. Able to influence others – even when direct reporting lines are not present. Team player and competent in all MS Tools: Project, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
