Learning Support Assistant (LSA) | Academic Inclusion | Local Schools Position: Full-Time, Long-Term (Term Time Only) Salary: £90 - £95 per day (Weekly Pay - dependent on experience) Start Date: Immediate / Next Term Are you an academically minded, supportive individual with a knack for making difficult concepts "click"? Join our network as a Learning Support Assistant and help students overcome learning barriers to reach their full potential. Bridging the Gap: Impact Through Intervention We are seeking Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to work across Primary and Secondary settings. Unlike a general assistant, your role is focused on learning outcomes -identifying where a student is struggling and providing the specific scaffolding, tools, and encouragement they need to succeed. Targeted Academic Support: Lead small group interventions in Literacy and Numeracy, helping students catch up or keep pace with the curriculum. The "How-To" Specialist: Teach students how to learn, focusing on organisation, memory techniques, and confidence-building. Career Fast-Track: This is the gold standard of experience for those looking to apply for a PGCE, School Direct, or Masters in Education. Weekly Pay: Competitive daily rates of £90 - £95, paid every Friday via Randstad. Your Role as an LSA As a Learning Support Assistant, you are the link between the teacher's high-level plan and the student's individual understanding. Differentiating Resources: Take a standard lesson and "re-package" it-creating simplified worksheets, visual aids, or word banks-to suit the specific needs of the learners you support. Small Group Leadership: Take charge of "breakout" sessions, guiding 3-5 students through a specific task to ensure they aren't overwhelmed by the pace of the main classroom. Promoting Independence: Use the "scaffold and fade" technique-providing heavy support initially and gradually stepping back as the student gains the confidence to work alone. Progress Tracking: Maintain clear records of student breakthroughs and hurdles, providing vital data to the Class Teacher and SENCO to help shape future lessons. Essential Requirements We value intelligence, initiative, and a "coaching" mindset. You are an ideal fit if you: Are Academically Confident: You have strong GCSEs (especially in English and Maths) and the ability to explain academic concepts clearly and creatively. Are Proactive: You don't wait to be told what to do; you can spot a struggling student and move in to offer support before they lose focus. Have Relevant Experience: Whether it's university tutoring, coaching, or previous school work, you have experience helping others learn. Are Committed: You hold an enhanced DBS on the update service (or are willing to apply) and are 100% dedicated to Safeguarding. Apply Today Ready to help students turn "I can't" into "I can"?
