Do you have experience of working with vulnerable people and an understanding of alcohol and other drugs related harm? If this is you, we have exciting opportunities in North East Edinburgh Service for experienced Lead Practitioners in the field of Alcohol and Other Drugs.
Thus full time role would be working Monday to Friday with the occasional evenings.
About The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Lead Practitioner, unlike other support roles, with Turning Point Scotland, no two days are the same!
You will be responsible for:
* First point of contact carrying out initial assessments, building trusting relationships and ongoing keyworker support (communication is essential).
* Working in a groupwork setting and/or providing Assertive Outreach to individual's homes, GP practices and across multiple community settings in the North East of Edinburgh.
* Offering harm reduction advice and interventions to vulnerable and high-risk people who use drugs, including those with multiple non-fatal overdoses and not currently engaged with treatment or support services.
About You
You will have knowledge and experience of drug and alcohol related harm. You will be passionate and committed and be creative in ways of engaging people, including home visits (alongside a colleague) offering support in the community. Making a difference to people’s lives, you will continue providing support until they are able to engage in more structured support within the hub.

The North East Recovery Hub offers a full range of drug and alcohol treatment and support services. We are a multi-disciplinary team comprising of Voluntary Sector, NHS and social work staff. We are based with our main office in Leith and working across our satellite location in Craigmillar.
