I. Management of patients on the Medical Admissions Unit and Medical Same Day Emergency Care Unit at University Hospitals of Derby & Burton NHS Foundation Trust, including patients referred by their GP, the Emergency Department or by other specialties. Provide AcuteMedicine in-reach to Adult patients in the Emergency Department. ii.
Responsibility for personal performance of clinical duties as agreed in their job plan,allowing for all proper delegation to, and training of staff. iii. Provision of cover for Consultant colleagues during reasonable periods of leave including care of patients and supervision of junior doctors and wherever possible any fixed commitments. We are planning to expand and extend our services, which include AMU, SSU, SDEC and Virtual ward. Sub-specialty interest in any other medical specialty can be accommodated. Candidates can be accommodated for up to 2 PAs to pursue specialty of their interest. Interest in improving SDEC services and virtual ward like e,g Frailty services will be encouraged, and successful candidates will be given an extra PA to improve these services
