Overview
My client is looking for an Accounts Payable & Treasury Assistant to join their growing Finance team and aid the transactional business function as the business continues to grow. The role combines the full AP cycle with exposure to cash management and treasury activities. It’s an ideal opportunity for someone with strong AP experience who is keen to broaden their responsibilities, or for a candidate already comfortable with treasury who wants to deepen their experience in a growing finance function.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable:
* Process, code, and manage supplier invoices, ensuring compliance with policies.
* Match invoices to purchase orders and resolve discrepancies.
* Reconcile supplier statements and maintain an accurate AP ledger.
* Prepare and run weekly supplier payment batches (BACS/Priority Payments).
* Manage supplier queries, maintaining strong working relationships.
* Process employee expenses and company credit card claims.
* Support month-end close activities (accruals, reconciliations, reporting).
* Assist with audit requirements by preparing relevant documentation.
Treasury & Cash Management:
* Monitor daily cash positions and update cashflow forecasts.
* Assist with bank reconciliations, fund transfers, and intercompany transactions.
* Support short-term liquidity management and longer-term treasury planning.
* Process payments, wire transfers, and other financial transactions.
Skills & Qualifications
* Proven experience in Accounts Payable or a similar finance role.
* Good knowledge of AP processes and accounting software (NetSuite desirable).
* Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
* Organised, proactive, and able to prioritise tasks effectively.
* Excellent communication skills for managing both suppliers and colleagues.
* Knowledge of CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) is advantageous.
* (Desirable) Exposure to or interest in treasury/cash management.
