The Role We are currently recruiting for a Systems Engineer within the Draken Chief Technology Officer organisation in support of a wide variety of internal and external customer technical work packages and projects. The role is responsible for applying systems engineering expertise to key projects, to ensure these projects are delivered and accepted to specification within agreed costs and timescales as part of a tailored LCM process. This role requires the ability to communicate both written and verbal complex technical ideas effectively to a wide range of SMEs. The Engineer will typically be part of an Integrated Product Team (IPT) and will technically contribute to the performance of the IPT to ensure that the technical system solutions and performance expectations are met or exceeded. Key Responsibilities Report to the Chief Engineer as the nominated Technical Lead for a specific Mission System technology or sub-system. Covering part or all, but not limited to, the following activities: Requirements compliance, system design, factory acceptance testing, qualification, training, operational delivery/support, optimisation, TLS and obsolescence/modification. This may include on a “as required basis” travel within the UK and overseas. Support the Chief Engineer to manage the Company/Technology Team ISO9001 Quality Process - by authoring, managing, maintaining and reviewing Technology Team documentation and procedures, preparing for and supporting internal and external ISO audits. Mission System Security Officer - Responsible for the security administration for appropriate security managed mission system hardware and software technologies. Responsibility includes but not limited to the auditing of controlled assets, control of software accounts and checking of log files of protectively marked assets. Experience / Skills / Qualifications Experience of working within a Systems Engineering environment and/or team through full lifecycle Knowledge Security Architecture, Accreditation & Tempest. Knowledge or one or more of the following: Radar System Principles, RF Design Principles, Microwave Antenna Systems, EW system and technologies, aerospace avionic systems, logic and digital control systems, FPGA systems, software engineering, computer networks. Familiarity with the product lifecycle and engineering design review process including requirements management, methodologies and toolsets. Strong ability to author technical documents and presentations, generate diagrams, schematics flowcharts, engineering drawings. Fluent use of Word, Power Point, Excel, Visio. Familiar with circuit diagrams, electrical components and wiring diagrams, connector types. Ability to work and deliver to time pressure and deadlines. Ability to technically lead on projects to drive the engineered solution through lifecycle.
