Job description
Our client, a leading company in the controls, automation, and nuclear industry, is currently seeking a Software Commissioning Test Team Leader on a contract basis.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise onsite commissioning activities to ensure safe, compliant, and accurate testing is achieved.
2. Review commissioning documentation and Safe System of Work for suitability of the activity.
3. Ensure the commissioning document and Safe System of Work is followed by all involved in the activity.
4. Work to an approved commissioning procedure, an approved Safe System of Work, and coordinate with other working parties, including attending site planning meetings.
5. Seek approval, apply, record, monitor, and remove the application of Temporary Commissioning Aids.
6. Raise commissioning reservations and seek guidance from the commissioning manager or engineering support when a system does not operate as expected or defects are found during the commissioning stage.
7. In the event of uncertainty, halt the commissioning activity, brief those involved on the reasons, and seek guidance from the commissioning manager or engineering support.
8. Control the situation in the event of an incident resulting in harm to personnel or damage to equipment, making it safe to prevent further injury, damage, or loss. Preserve the scene for investigation and withdraw all personnel if necessary.
9. Ensure the final state of plant configuration (post-commissioning) is as expected in the commissioning document or agreed upon with the commissioning manager.
Job Requirements:
10. Hands-on experience with Siemens PLC and SCADA systems.
11. Good appreciation of control panels, electrical installation, and instrumentation solutions.
12. Experience in testing and on-site commissioning is essential.
13. Excellent H&S awareness - SSSTS or SMSTS preferred.
14. CSCS card or equivalent - essential.
Desirable Experience:
15. Experience with Plant Historians.
16. Network design and configuration knowledge.
17. Understanding of cyber security principles.
18. Knowledge in functional safety.
19. Familiarity with industrial protocol standards (IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, OPC, etc.)
