The role of Grounds Maintenance Operativewill include:
1. Maintaining estates, applying basic horticultural practices
2. Providing accurate and timely information on progress and advice and ensuring accurate daily work records are completed
3. Responding positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery to meet customer expectations and escalate complaints as appropriate
4. Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and continue to be suitable for required tasks
5. Using equipment and materials in a safe manner, as instructed and in accordance with risk assessment and method statements and the manufacturer’s guidance
6. Carrying out all hazardous tasks such as spraying, ensuring relevant records are maintained to comply with health and safety and legal requirements
Skills and experiences:
7. Literacy and numeracy equivalent to grade C GCSE English and Maths
8. Pesticide Application Certificate PA1 – PA6 (or equivalent) or willing to work towards
9. Recent experience of undertaking a similar role and some practical experience of operating machinery
10. Some experience interpreting written instruction and maintaining simple written records
11. Good understanding of written and spoken English and good communication skills
12. This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence

23. £25,400 per annum (rising to £26,737 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
