About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Test & Design Engineer to join a dynamic manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Lab Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring products meet current international standards and regulatory requirements.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within a fast-paced engineering team, supporting new product development and ensuring compliance through robust testing, documentation, and supplier collaboration.
Your work will directly contribute to the successful launch of innovative, compliant products into global markets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Create and maintain product risk assessments
2. Develop and implement test plans in line with required standards and legislation
3. Ensure internal design and test verification methods meet current approval standards
4. Review and interpret third-party test data to support new product introductions
5. Identify compliance gaps and request additional data from global suppliers
6. Maintain product technical files in accordance with legislation
7. Support product development through inspection, testing, and sampling
8. Design packaging and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
9. Create and maintain technical drawings (in-house and third-party products)
10. Develop technical documentation including instruction manuals, energy labels, and product codes
11. Support sales and customer demonstrations with technical presentations and samples
12. Define and maintain spare parts documentation
About You
Essential:
13. Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience)
14. Minimum 3 years' experience in an engineering role within manufacturing
15. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematic diagrams
16. Strong understanding of compliance and product approval processes
17. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
18. Experience working in fast-paced environments with short lead times
19. Willingness to travel between sites
Desirable:
20. Knowledge of current and emerging legislation
21. Previous product testing experience
22. Hands-on engineering experience
23. Experience within appliance, foodservice equipment, or mechanical product design sectors
