Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Outdoor Vocational Teacher to work with secondary-aged students in Exeter, starting in September 2025. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys delivering practical, hands-on learning experiences outside the traditional classroom setting.
You’ll be working with students who benefit from a more vocational and experience-led approach to education, helping them build valuable skills, confidence, and engagement through activities such as land-based learning, outdoor education, or trades-based projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver vocational lessons in outdoor or practical environments
Support students with a range of educational and behavioural needs
Create an inclusive, engaging, and supportive learning atmosphere
Foster personal development and life skills alongside subject content
Work collaboratively with other staff and external agencies as needed
Requirements:
QTS, QTLS, or relevant vocational teaching/training experience
Background in outdoor learning, trades, construction, land-based studies, or similar
Experience working with secondary-aged learners or in alternative provision
Strong interpersonal and behaviour management skills
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
