We are always looking for talented/aspiring support staff to join our team and help us deliver high-quality education to learners.Progress CoachBeverley37 hours per weekTemporary£15 per hourAbout the role As a Progress Coach, you will play a vital role in supporting learner progress, engagement and wellbeing throughout their programme of study. You will provide pastoral and safeguarding support, work closely with curriculum teams to address attendance and behaviour concerns, and help deliver a varied programme of enrichment activities. Working collaboratively with teaching staff, the Inclusion Team and Safeguarding Team, you will identify learner needs and coordinate timely interventions. This may include signposting or referring learners to appropriate internal or external support services. The role may involve supporting learners with challenging behaviour, so a calm, confident and solution-focused approach is essential.Key responsibilities include: • Providing pastoral, safeguarding and welfare support to learners • Supporting curriculum teams with learner engagement, attendance and behaviour • Identifying support needs and arranging interventions, referrals and signposting • Delivering and supporting enrichment events and activities throughout the year • Working closely with safeguarding, inclusion and support teams • Building strong, trusted relationships with learners to support progression and successAbout you You will be an approachable and positive individual with excellent communication skills and a genuine commitment to supporting young people. You'll be confident engaging learners, managing challenging situations calmly, and working both independently and as part of a team.We are looking for someone who has: • Experience of working with young people • A clear understanding of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults • Knowledge of external agencies and support services • The ability to build strong rapport and deliver engaging interventions • Strong interpersonal skills and a professional approachYou should also have: • A relevant Level 3 specialist qualification (e.g. Youth Work) or a willingness to work towards one • The ability to remain calm and professional during conflict • A proactive, flexible and team-oriented mindset • DBS on the update serviceAll candidates who register with Reed Further Education will have 2 years' referencing taken up and will be required to have a DBS check completed. All offers are conditional upon satisfactory background checks. Reed Further Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment by completing mandatory training within 6 weeks of your first assignment and annually thereafter.
