ISS, one of the UK's leading Facilities Management providers, is expanding its Engineering team to support a key UK Government client. The role involves overseeing engineering activities across multiple sites including Darlington, Glasgow, Newcastle, Middlesborough, and Aberdeen, with minimal site presence.
Based remotely and supervising 5 engineers, you will manage M&E maintenance, small installation jobs, and fabric repairs in office facilities. You will oversee the PPM regime and reactive repairs to ensure compliance and successful completion. The role requires providing top-tier engineering services for a high-profile conference centre hosting senior officials and foreign delegates.
Reporting to the Regional Engineering Manager, your key responsibilities include ensuring safety compliance among engineers and subcontractors, providing leadership and performance management, and liaising with the client to ensure satisfaction.
This position is ideal for a confident engineer with some leadership or client-facing experience aspiring to move into management within a leading facilities provider on a government contract.
Key actions include:
* Supervisory functions in facility maintenance and utility operations
* Performance review and quality assurance
* Problem resolution and corrective actions
* Understanding building operation rules and working with the Technical Services Manager
* Staff utilization and task assignment
* Problem-solving within procedural limitations
* Ensuring scheduled PMs and work orders are completed
* Maintaining accurate O&M documentation and asset registers
* Updating SOPs/MOPs/EOPs as needed
* Managing inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment
* Proper disposal of waste and unusable parts
* Coordinating with contractors and vendors for safe maintenance and project work
* Resolving operational issues efficiently to minimize costs and delays
* Ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations
