Relief Vocational Lecturer – Maritime Engineering

£24.57 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)
This role assists in learning facilitation, teaching, curriculum planning, and professional development. It involves delivering Basic STCW courses, STCW refresher training, and other short courses, as well as supporting the growing Nav School programme.
Responsibilities
* Plan, prepare, and deliver teaching and learning experiences.
* Provide academic guidance and support to students.
* Lead on qualifications to meet the needs of the new workboat code, offshore wind, renewables sector, and other operators.
* Support the Nav School’s growing programme.
Qualifications
* Holder of an SVQ, HND, or other SCQF Level 8 qualification relevant to the curriculum remit, or at least five years of relevant experience.
* STCW Engineering OOW Certificate of Competency.
* Teaching Qualification in Further Education (TQFE) or other recognised equivalent lecturing/teaching qualification at SCQF Level 9, recognised by the General Teaching Council Scotland (GTCS) for registration, or willingness to achieve this within three years.
* Registration as a College Lecturer with GTCS (Full or Provisional (Conditional)) or willingness to achieve within an agreed timescale.
* Level 2 Disclosure with PVG scheme membership (required for a regulated role with children).
