Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Electrical Package Engineer to join our team in Leatherhead, London. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the electrical package aspects of our projects, including substation and switchgear procurement, vendor management, and system design. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects and collaborate with a talented team of engineers and industry experts.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage the selection, procurement, and coordination of substation and switchgear package vendors.
2. Oversee the EPC process, providing technical guidance and ensuring compliance with project requirements.
3. Design onshore and offshore electrical distribution power systems, including the development of Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) and load lists.
4. Size HV equipment such as frequency converters and UPS systems to meet project specifications.
5. Develop project philosophies, technical specifications, and datasheets in collaboration with the project team.
6. Coordinate with building vendors to integrate electrical infrastructure requirements into overall project designs.
7. Provide support to the lead engineer and collaborate with other team members to ensure project success.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
2. Demonstrable experience in managing substation and switchgear package vendors through EPC projects.
3. Proven track record in designing electrical distribution power systems for onshore and/or offshore environments.
4. Strong proficiency in developing Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), load lists, and equipment sizing calculations.
5. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
6. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to electrical engineering and power systems.
7. Previous experience in a similar role within the engineering or energy sector is preferred.
