Responsibilities
* The appointee should have a broad range of general ENT experience to complement the existing consultants.
* We are currently running our service model based on 5 Consultants, who work across our two sites. With the addition of this post we will increase our workforce to take our on-call to a 1:6.
Person Specification
Qualifications & Registration Essential
* MB BS or equivalent
* Membership or Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons
* Full Registration with GMC with a licence to practice, on Specialist Register on date of taking up appointment or to have obtained CCT in ENT within 6 months of interview
Desirable
* MD or equivalent
* BSE accreditation
Training and experience Essential
* Wide experience in all aspects of Ear Nose and Throat
Desirable
* Experience in other medical specialties
* Sub-specialist experience in ENT
Administration & Management Essential
* Evidence of participation in staff management
* Understanding of recent initiatives and changes, including Clinical Governance and Appraisal
Desirable
* Management course and/or qualifications
* Knowledge of the structure of Health Service
Audit, Research and Publications Essential
* Thorough understanding of principles of medical audit
* Understanding of the role of research

* Completion and/or Publication of audit projects
