Job Role
As a Quality Engineer, you will uphold high-quality standards during inspection of ATL’s products and supplier products. Your responsibilities include raising non-conformances for parts not meeting ATL’s expectations and guiding technicians on re-work procedures.
Main Duties
* Support quality control requirements across all production areas in collaboration with the Quality department.
* Use hand metrology tools to inspect parts.
* Operate CMM machines to measure and report on parts.
* Create control plans.
* Assist with testing and process development as needed.
* Produce inspection reports for First Article Inspections.
* Support inspection of parts throughout the process and prior to dispatch.
* Manage internal and supplier rejects, utilizing 5 Whys and 8D reporting when necessary.
* Escalate issues promptly to appropriate parties.
* Conduct quality and process spot checks in various departments.
* Prepare inspection reports and documentation for customer reporting.
* Perform internal and supplier audits as required.
* Participate in root cause investigations.
* Collaborate with the Quality Control team to drive continuous improvement.
* Apply environmentally sustainable practices aligned with our policies.
* Identify opportunities to reduce waste and energy consumption.
Additional duties within your capabilities may be assigned as needed.
Responsibilities & Competence
* Experience with 8D report completion.
* Knowledge of BS EN reporting standards.
* Proficiency with basic and electronic metrology equipment.
* Experience with PPAP submissions is a plus.
* Audit experience (internal and external) is advantageous.
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
* Awareness of TS/VDA standards is desirable.
* Familiarity with FIA regulations and standards is a plus.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Exceptional attention to detail.
Job Requirements
* Qualification in an engineering discipline (e.g., HNC/HND/BTEC/NVQ).
* Relevant professional experience.
* Experience with ISO QMS.
* Fluency in English.
* Minimum GCSE passes in English and Maths.
