We have a fantastic opportunity for an Healthcare Assistant to join the team on a bank basis at HMP YOI Moorland, aCategory C Prison and Young Offenders Institution for males. HMP YOI Moorland is based near Hatfield, and has capacity of around 950.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the team, and work in a varied environment, where you will gain experience across primary care, including emergency response, working on the wings, clinics, health promotion, and more! No 2 days are the same in this challenging, yet rewarding and supportive environment.

No 2 days are the same in this challenging, yet rewarding and supportive environment. Hours: This is a bank role offering flexible hours across days and nights, 7 days per week. Shifts are usually 07:30 - 19:30 / 19:30 - 07:30, but this is flexible based around your availability. Salary: This position is offered on a bank basis and the hourly rate is £15.25 How will we support you?

Main duties of the job

As our new Bank Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:

* Ensure continuity of care for all patients, and deliver outstanding care at all times
* Carry out bloods, obs, ECGs etc
* Work across all areas of care, including inpatients, clinics, primary care, health promotion, bloods etc
* Respond to emergency situations as needed
* Work holistically with your patients and other healthcare staff, including nurses, nursing associates, pharmacy etc
* Deliver personalised, non judgemental care, based on patient feedback
* Contribute to, and implement care packages, assist with health promotion, wellbeing and clinics

Our new Bank Healthcare Assistant will:
* Hold a NVQ Level 2 / 3 in Health & Social Care, or equivalent work experience
* Have experience in Venepuncture, ECGs, NEWS2 etc
* Experience in a healthcare environment - hospital, prison or within the community
