Job Description
Our Programme Advisory (PA) business unit has a proven track record of working with public and private sector clients to deliver complex strategies, set‑up and transformations for major programmes both in the UK and globally. We support iconic clients across a wide range of sectors through designing, developing, implementing, and optimising commercial strategies, commercial models, and functional operating models. This ranges across the commercial lifecycle from market intelligence through commercial strategy development to optimising commercial performance and value.
We are seeking talented individuals at Consultant, Senior Consultant and Principal Consultant grades across multiple UK locations who want the next step in their career, supporting our clients’ major programmes and organisations in setting a new standard of supply chain and commercial delivery for the industry.
As part of our Programme Commercial Advisory team, you will influence and transform performance on the world’s most impactful programmes for a green, inclusive, and productive world. You will bring strong background in Procurement, Supply Chain or Cost & Commercial Management, and seek to develop your career at a more strategic level within a team of specialist commercial and transformation consultants.
Key Aspects of the Role
* Understanding and communicating the key strategic levers to enable successful outcomes‑driven commercial environments for clients.
* Guiding clients in establishing optimal commercial approaches throughout the asset lifecycle.
* Translating a client’s vision into effective and realistic commercial solutions, including incentivisation.
* Deploying and/or optimising commercial management strategies, processes, tools, and systems, tailoring standard methodologies to client needs.
* Proactively connecting and collaborating with diverse multidisciplinary teams both internally and externally.
* Developing strong relationships with client stakeholders at all levels.
* Supporting clients to deliver effective change management.
* Supporting key activities within the Programme Advisory team, including:
o Internal development of commercial service transformation products and methodologies.
o Identifying, contributing to, and progressing business generation opportunities where appropriate, working closely with senior leadership and wider Turner & Townsend teams.
Qualifications
* Commercial:
o Deep understanding of one or more of infrastructure, defence, and/or energy and natural resources markets, and associated commercial requirements.
o Awareness of the commercial lifecycle and how it supports clients.
o Ability to understand and operate within large‑scale, complex environments.
o Experience delivering projects within commercial / transformational environments.
o Familiarity with construction industry context, models, and initiatives (e.g. Construction Playbook, Project 13).
o Familiarity with relevant legislative requirements (e.g. public/sector procurement regulations).
o Qualified, or in advanced process of becoming qualified, in MCIPS, RICS or equivalent professional qualification is desirable.
* Consultancy:
o Experience leading and managing multiple projects and maintaining quality deliverables against challenging timelines.
o Excellent communication skills, including active listening, presentation, and written communication.
o Ability to provide insights to clients through clear and succinct communications.
o Flexible with a can‑do attitude and strong eye for detail.
o Ability to work and thrive in multi‑stakeholder environments.
o Experience delivering change management.
