Role Overview
This role requires an inspirational leader with proven flair and commercial ability, as well as the skill, energy and determination to drive and develop the business. We’re looking for a manager with experience developing the standards and reputation of a new gym while nurturing a growing membership base and team.
Responsibilities
* Ensure that all policies and procedures in the Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook are adhered to.
* Maintain the JD Gyms Brand Standard and conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety checks.
* Report and chase all defects to ensure the building and its equipment are safe to use.
* Recruit, manage, and develop a team of employed Fitness Coaches and General Assistants to ensure club operations meet daily expectations.
* Hold regular team meetings to aid development and keep everyone updated.
* Work towards and achieve all sales and membership targets set for the club.
* Drive and maximise secondary spending revenue.
* Ensure the entire gym facility meets the highest standards of cleanliness, including supervising in‑house cleaners (General Assistant).
* Manage the weekly banking process, minimising wastage and variance while maximising profit.
* Maintain uniform standards for all team members, including yourself.
* Consistently deliver outstanding member service and foster a positive work environment.
* Act as an ambassador for JD Gyms.
Skills and Experience
* Proven track record of management experience within a leisure‑related industry.
* Passion for customer service and inspirational leadership.
* Successful history of driving sales and coordinating local marketing activity.
* Experience recruiting and managing high‑performing teams.
* Preferably a background as a General Manager overseeing all business areas within a leisure facility, or substantial experience as a Fitness Manager or similar operational role.
