Responsible to: Charity Shop Manager
Hours: 21 hours per week over 3 days.
Salary: £13.00 per hour
Requirements: Due to the nature of the clients we work with, we can only accept applicants who are 18+ years old.
Job Summary
Due to the success of our Somewhere to Go Charity Shop we are recruiting for more staff! We are currently seeking two motivated and customer-focused Charity Shop Supervisors to join our team. This role is based in our Charity Shop and will be responsible for supporting the running of our Charity shop, creating window displays, supporting our volunteers and helping raise funds for homeless and vulnerable adults in North Somerset. This role will involve engaging with customers in person, finalising sales, answering sales queries, and handling phone calls.
Job Purpose
After our move to our new Charity Shop premise our Charity Shop has been going from strength to strength. We are looking to continue to expand our services and need committed staff to do so!
Personal Specification – Qualities & Experience
* Must be reliable, honest and trustworthy.
* Experience working within a charity shop or retail setting.
* Excellent time keeping skills.
* Prepared to be flexible in the tasks that are asked of you.
* Positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills.
* Ability to multi-task and prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Main Responsibilities
* To serve customers and record purchases on the cash register.
* Handle and finalise sales transactions, ensuring all customer information and orders are accurately recorded.
* To work with staff and other volunteers to sort, steam, hang, ticket and size donated clothing for sale in the shop.
* To help keep the shop clean.
* To assist with shop displays.
* Provide information leaflets and signpost any enquiries for Somewhere to Go services.
* Comply with Somewhere to Go relevant Policies and Procedures.
* Represent the professional standards of the charity
* Build and maintain positive relationships with new and existing customers.
* Provide excellent customer service to all clients.
* Answer incoming sales queries via phone and email.
* Support with the running of the Charity Shop.
* Replenishing stock in the shop.
* Rotating stock.
