Social Worker – Temporary Contracts, Swansea Council
We are looking to appoint the following vacancies on temporary contracts:
1 x full time Social Worker – Community Mental Health Team
Based in Central Clinic, Orchard Street, Swansea. This role is a mix of working from home and office based, plus visiting clients in hospitals and their own homes. Some mental health experience is essential along with writing and submitting reports plus attending Mental Health Tribunals. It would be advantageous if the Social Worker had knowledge of WCCIS given the short contract time.
2 x full time Social Workers – Home First Hospital Team
This role is primarily based in our local hospitals and includes community work.
* Office based 5 days per week (Monday to Friday)
* Primarily based in Morriston Hospital, but may also cover Singleton, Neath Port Talbot and Gorseinon.
3 x full time Social Workers – Initial Assessment Team (2 will be in the CAP Assessment Team and 1 in the CAP MDT/Rapid Response)
These roles are hybrid, with flexibility providing visits are done in a timely manner. Office is Guildhall, Swansea.
Requirements
* Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Care Wales.
* Mental health social work experience essential, ideally within a CMHT or similar statutory setting.
* Confident in completing reports and attending Mental Health Tribunals.
* Good working knowledge of WCCIS would be advantageous.
* Strong communication, organisational, and partnership‑working skills.
* Must have a valid UK driving licence and be able to travel to clients across Swansea.
* Ideally located within or near Swansea, or willing to travel for the duration of the contract.
