Job Overview
Consultant in Cardiology
We invite applications for a full-time, substantive position within our Cardiology team. The successful candidate will join a friendly, enthusiastic, and forward-thinking team, contributing to both acute and elective cardiology services. The role involves 10 Programmed Activities (PA's) per week.
Main Duties
The team provides comprehensive cardiology services, including coronary care, diagnostics, and interventions. Responsibilities include ward rounds, patient management, diagnostic procedures, and interventional cardiology, with strong links to Leeds cardiology services. Facilities include CT coronary angiography, trans-oesophageal echocardiography, stress echocardiography, and complex device implantation.

Person Specification
Clinical Qualifications
* MBChB or equivalent
* MRCP UK or equivalent
* GMC Specialist Register entry (via CCT or CESR)
* Higher degree (MD, PhD, or equivalent)
Experience
* Extensive clinical experience in Cardiology and General Medicine
* A special interest aligning with department needs
* Experience at locum or substantive consultant level
Teaching
* Experience in teaching medical students and trainees
* Postgraduate qualification in medical education
