There is no typical day at Wickham Community Centre. We are seeking someone who is organised, friendly and collaborative to join our team. The ideal person will take pride in making sure the centre is clean and the needs of hirers are met. This position is for someone with a responsible attitude, who will be in charge of the centre on evenings and weekends when other team members aren't present. We're looking for someone who is confident and comfortable with lone-working, and able to deal with potentially challenging situations. The job can be occasionally physically demanding. On the job training will be given.
Pay: £12.21 per hour increases to £18 per hour when working past 10pm
Typical working days: Thursday - Sunday
Responsibilities:
* Supervise the centre and prepare rooms for hirers.
* Maintain the building and report repairs.
* Keep the building clean.
* Ensure fire regulations are adhered to.
* Be punctual.
* Answer enquiries from customers.
* Deal with hirers and visitors to the centre courteously.
* Ensure drinking and entertainment laws are followed by hirers, and any illegal activities are prohibited.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in commercial cleaning and janitorial services
* Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness standards
* Ability to work independently during evening and weekend shifts
* Excellent time management skills to complete tasks efficiently
* Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures
* Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members
* Using initiative when working alone
* Lone working
