Job Description
The Sterile Processing Tech 1 will become acquainted with and understand CSP procedures. This includes decontamination, prep and pack, picking of case carts, sterilizing instruments and operating CSP equipment properly and safely. The SPD Tech 1 will also become familiar with the process of supplying materials to the OR accurately and in a timely manner. Employee will work independently after orientation has been completed. The position is 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, and candidates must be available to work holidays as required.
Salary Range
$23.55 – $29.31 per hour

Job Requirements
Qualifications
* Education: High school diploma or GED required. Must fulfill educational requirements for completion of a nationally and NYS accredited Central Service Technician certification program (CRCST or CSPDT); or otherwise qualified per the NYS Public Health Law (i.e., evidence of one year cumulative experience as Central Service Technician within the four years immediately prior to Jan 1 2015); or become CRCST or CSPDT certified within 18 months of hire.
* Experience: Sterile Processing or Materials Processing preferred.
* License/Certification: CRCST or CSPDT certification required within 18 months of hire or transfer.
* Skills: Able to understand written and oral direction as well as interpret equipment operation instructions.
