About the role
At East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, we’re looking for confident, compassionate, and motivated Clinical Support Workers to join our acute care teams and make a real difference every day.
Expectations
In this role, you’ll use your existing clinical skills and knowledge to provide high‑quality, patient‑centred care in a fast‑paced environment. You’ll play a vital part in supporting nurses and clinical teams, helping to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care when it matters most.
Responsibilities
* Provide personal care including bathing, toileting, dressing, and feeding.
* Record patient observations, including vital signs, and escalation of concerns.
* Support clinical procedures such as wound care, venepuncture, and catheter removal (after training).
* Assist with medication administration and oxygen therapy (after training).
* Escort patients and support enhanced observations.
* Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient dignity and confidentiality.
Qualifications and Experience
* Previous experience working in a healthcare setting, ideally in a Clinical Support Worker or equivalent role within the NHS or a similar environment.
* Genuine passion for delivering high‑quality patient care and making a difference.
* Demonstrable clinical skills, knowledge and experience in supporting patients within acute or similar care settings.
* Commitment to a full week of induction training at the start of employment.
* Ability to work flexibly across a range of shifts (days, nights, and weekends).
* Hold GCSE Maths and English grade C/4 or above (or a comparable international qualification). International applicants will be required to provide a UK ENIC Statement of comparability.
* Meet the educational and competency requirements for a Band 3 Clinical Support Worker.
