We have an exciting opportunity for 5x Technical Licensing Officers to join our Property Licensing Team. This career‑graded role offers development and progression, allowing you to make a real difference in improving the lives of residents across Hackney.
About you
Responsibilities:
* Support the delivery of Hackney’s property licensing schemes through accurate casework and technical assessment.
* Provide high‑quality customer service to residents, landlords, agents and internal teams, ensuring properties are properly licensed and compliant with legislation.
* Work closely with residents, landlords, agents and internal teams to interpret and apply licensing requirements.
* Maintain accurate records and evidence‑based decisions at all times.
Qualifications:
* Strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage casework accurately.
* Empathy and professionalism when dealing with residents and landlords, recognising the impact that poor housing can have on tenants’ health and wellbeing.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain licensing requirements clearly in both written and verbal formats, while remaining impartial and evidence‑based.
* Solid experience in a private sector housing, licensing, regulatory or enforcement environment, or relevant housing, property, or administrative experience that demonstrates the ability to interpret legislation and apply it in practice.
* Demonstrated competence, technical capability and consistent performance at SO1 level, with progression from SC6 to SO1 based on these attributes.
