The IT Cyber Security Officer's role is to assist in planning, organizing, and managing IT Security tasks as assigned by the IT Cyber Security Manager, ensuring the security and resilient operation of Trust infrastructure and current customers' IT systems. This includes developing, monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key Cyber security areas, particularly Network and Server infrastructure, Networks, and Data communications. The Officer will also schedule and direct activities to resolve cyber problems promptly.
Out of hours support is expected to handle system upgrades and failures as required. Participation in the out-of-hours service rota is necessary, requiring skills to manage emergency call-outs and escalate faults appropriately.
Main duties of the job
* Manage Cyber Security systems tasks as assigned.
* Collaborate with the Cyber Security Manager to design and implement strategic security plans.
* Monitor and test IT Infrastructure security.
* Develop and assist in IT Security testing frameworks.
* Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and training for Cyber security administration and project management.
* Manage patch management procedures.
* Respond to NHS digital Cyber alerts and CareCERT Notifications in line with internal processes.
* Assist with cyber/security accreditation processes.
* Maintain Cyber security records on risk registers.
* Research and recommend security products, services, and standards.
* Prepare bid proposals, contracts, and reports for security projects.
* Test server, application, and database security; report findings.
* Implement data security measures to protect against unauthorized access.
* Assist in designing, implementing, and testing disaster recovery systems.
