ROLE OVERVIEW //
We are offering an opportunity for a professional, engaging individual to join our London-based Responsible Business Team as a Responsible Business Adviser. The role is full-time and permanent.
The Responsible Business Team is a collaborative, dynamic team leading on the firm’s sustainability agenda. You will be working as a key part of this team delivering on a range of responsible business projects including, social mobility programmes, external benchmarking, employee engagement and profile management activities, and supporting with ad hoc strategic projects.
The Responsible Business Adviser will work closely with and support the work of our Responsible Business Mangers, learning from experts in an established team, and will also benefit from opportunities to be involved in a variety of projects. You will need to be highly organised, resilient and be able to deal with a fast-paced environment. Existing experience in Responsible Business/Sustainability or related areas is preferable as the role will require some prior knowledge and skills for example, experience of working with charities or demonstrating a working knowledge of key trends and best practice in corporate activity on social and environmental issues.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES //
The key responsibilities of this role are set out below and there may be others which are not listed. You may be required on occasion to work outside our normal working hours of 9:30am to 5:30pm.
Social Mobility
* Organise work insight days and work experience schemes focussing on students 18 years+ from lower socio-economic backgrounds.
* Manage day-to-day contact with delivery partners/charities, key internal stakeholders and students.
* Manage event logistics, including drafting key communications, managing expenses, coordinating speakers and agendas.
* Recruit volunteers from across the firm to act as mentors, participate as speakers and contribute to networking events.
* Update and organise key materials, such as photos, testimonials, videos and case studies.
* Assist with impact measurement, such as by running evaluation surveys, collecting KPIs, and reporting as required.
* Support with the design and delivery of skills sessions and workshops.
Benchmarks
* Collate evidence and data, and draft responses to support the completion of our submissions to benchmarks and reporting frameworks such as the UN Global Compact and EcoVadis.
* Create action plans to implement the feedback from the benchmark to ensure continuous improvement across the firm.
Employee engagement
* Lead and deliver Responsible Business induction programme for new joiners and work insight students, coordinate updates to the training materials and communications and organise networking events.
* Create and update content for internal communications, coordinating with key stakeholders.
* Formalise guidance and processes to track employee contribution to sustainability initiatives.
* Support delivery of values integration projects and campaigns.
External profile
* Support with development of key external communications and draft award submissions.
* Create and update content for website and social media.
CANDIDATE PROFILE //
Candidates for this position must have:
* Experience or knowledge of working in responsible business/ a similar area
* Genuine interest in, and enthusiasm about responsible business and social mobility
* Ability to undertake thorough research and analysis, apply critical thinking to problems and exercise judgement within areas of responsibility
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written, spoken and presentational
* Ability to form strong working relationships with a wide variety of people, internally and externally
* Excellent organisational and project management skills – ability to operate self-sufficiently, juggle multiple tasks and competing demands, and consistently deliver results on time
* Ability to be methodical and high attention to detail
* Ability to be pragmatic and a good problem solver – reliability under pressure
* Willingness to contribute to an inclusive and cooperative working environment, making a fair contribution to the team and offering support to colleagues with their workload when needed
* Ability to be flexible and willing to take on new challenges
* Ability to demonstrate a high level of professionalism and integrity
* Ability to maintain high levels of discretion when dealing with privileged or confidential information
* Strong IT skills and confident with MS Office (at least intermediate standard in Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
