Role Purpose: Prepare financial reports and historical financial performance information to enable others to identify exceptions which require further action Key Accountablities:Reconcile balance sheet accounts from basic data to ensure the balances are in line with accounting standardsCreate journals from basic data for approval and processing within the general ledger to assist in the preparation of the monthly financial statementsValidate expenses and petty cash claims to ensure approval is granted and is within group guidelinesProduce and submit statutory returns such as Office of National Statistics (ONS), Intra Stat, VAT from the relevant raw data to ensure compliance with financial standardsInvestigating account detail, responding to queries and account variances, to provide information and insight for senior managementKnowledge, Skills and Experience:Attainment of or studying towards a recognised accountancy qualificationExperience of working in a similar financial roleAbility to work to tight deadlinesFinance system management and internal controlSubstantial numeracy skillsImpeccable attention to detailIntermediate Excel skillsExperience of double entry bookkeeping idealAt Greencore we put our people at the core.
