Whilst our primary aim is to help our children negotiate life safely, it is so much more than that. It involves caring for our children as a good parent would. This includes the usual day to day activities of helping our children get up and go to school to having fun by the sea, going to the pictures, playing football, reading bedtime role is diverse and rewarding for the right candidates.
We are particularly interested in ambitious staff who want to progress in this field and there are ample opportunities for promotion and personal growth. In addition we provide extensive training and benefits that will enhance your work experience.
The job involves shift work and sleeping at the house. Staff will generally work one shift on followed by two off working up to 10 sleep-in shifts per month, enabling a great work-life balance.
Duties
● Working positively with our children to keep them safe and teach them how to keep themselves safe
● Helping our children with daily living activities such as getting up, going to school and everything else that children can expect in a family home.
● Taking our children to school and helping them with homework
● Supporting our children to maintain relationships important to them.
● Keeping detailed records
● Having fun supporting children to pursue hobbies and learn new skills
● Building strong, loving relationships and being a good role model
Requirements
● A great attitude
● Compassionate, empathetic and nurturing nature
● Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with our children, their families and other professionals.
● Ability to drive and possession of a valid driving licence-or a desire to learn.
● The ability to work as part of a team, follow instruction but also challenge poor practice.
● Experience of working with children or in childcare setting is an advantage.
● Ability to work shifts as required .
