The Reedbut Group designs and manufactures corrugated packaging. The business has three sites; Milton Keynes the head office, Andover and Strood, and is one of the leading independent sheet plants in the UK. The company has an annual turnover of more than £17 million and employs 90 people.
The business operates in the rapidly growing corrugated packaging market and the materials the company work with have strong green credentials and are playing a leading role in the war against single use plastic.

The key elements of the job are:
Role Purpose: The Finance Manager will support the Group Finance Director in various financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable, payment processing, credit control, cash flow management, payroll, and more. This role requires a proactive attitude, strong organizational skills, and the ability to drive process improvements and deliver change.
Key Responsibilities:
* Accounts Payable: Oversee the processing of monthly invoices, credits, and statement reconciliations.
* Accounts Receivable: Maintain accurate records; set up new customer accounts and arrange insurance coverage.
* Payment Processing: Oversee the processing of manual invoices; review outstanding invoices; prepare draft payment runs; set up payments and handle queries.
* Credit Control: Check customer credit ratings; prepare monthly credit reports; advise Account Managers on insurer changes; ensure timely resolution of payment queries.
* Cash Flow Management: Maintain monthly cash flow spreadsheets; review payments and receipts; process payments across five bank accounts; complete bank reconciliations.
* Journal Preparation: Prepare monthly journals for prepayments, accruals, and fixed assets.
* Management Accounts: Support preparation of management accounts and month-end duties.
* Payroll Processing: Review timesheets; process adjustments using Moorepay software.
* Personal Records: Maintain employee records; complete onboarding; ensure bank payment templates are up to date; review monthly payment runs.
* Purchase Orders: Review and raise purchase orders up to £500; liaise with SLT for higher amounts; manage Finance Assistants; handle supplier and internal queries.
* Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Perform monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
* External Auditors: Support the Finance Director in liaising with external auditors.
* Insurance: Liaise with external insurance regarding credit limits and claims.
* Management Reports: Prepare monthly absence reports; handle quarterly bonus spreadsheets; manage ad hoc requirements.
* Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the budget and forecasting process.
* Stock Management: Set up stock holding products; audit stock for reconciliation with accounts.
* Additional Duties: Handle requests from SLT, including tax return information for directors.

Hours of Work.
37.5 hours per week
Mon to Friday 9.00 – 17.00
Holidays.
The basic annual leave entitlement is 20 working days pro rata. Additional holidays are based on length of service up to a maximum of 25 days.
