Overview
Here's an opportunity to contribute your skills and talents to enriching the lives of older adults experiencing dementia. We are seeking Community Support Workers who enjoy making a positive contribution to Croydon residents attending Dementia Centres. Your role will involve providing activities that stimulate cognition in a sensitive and respectful manner, thereby enhancing social functioning and wellbeing, in line with best practice indicators for people with dementia.
Person Specification
* Positive, caring, innovative, and enthusiastic approach
* Understanding of person-centred dementia care and commitment to caring for individuals with dementia
* Ability to organise and deliver activities such as CST, Reminiscence, and Life Story
* Knowledge and skills to work with vulnerable adults and support their carers within a safeguarding framework
* Experience in completing personalised care plans, leading outcome-focused review meetings, and documentation using IT
* Good literacy and report writing skills
* Transport duties and personal care responsibilities, including moving and handling
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team from diverse statutory and non-statutory services
Qualifications and Requirements
* NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent or above (desirable)
* Enhanced DBS check (required)
Working Conditions
The service operates Monday to Friday, from 8:00 to 18:00, on a rota system. Applications for both full-time and part-time roles are welcome.
