Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a Commis, you will play a vital role in supporting the chefs in food preparation and ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen. Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes according to established recipes and standards.
* Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
* Help with the organisation and cleanliness of the kitchen, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained.
* Support senior chefs in food production tasks, including chopping, slicing, and marinating ingredients.
* Participate in daily mise en place to ensure all necessary ingredients are ready for service.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy periods.
* Follow instructions from senior chefs and demonstrate a willingness to learn new techniques and skills.
Requirements
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy setting.
* Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
* A willingness to help others and contribute positively to the kitchen atmosphere.
* Basic culinary skills, including knife skills and food preparation techniques, are beneficial.
