We are currently recruiting for Site Supervisors to join our team, delivering exceptional customer service and innovative operational solutions across Yorkshire. About the Role
As a Site Supervisor, you will:
* Be responsible for leading operational teams within a defined catchment, ensuring seamless end-to-end management of all works while delivering an exceptional customer journey. You will ensure everyone within your team is performing their responsibilities. Your responsibilities will also include carrying out site inspections, coordinating the crews from your depot, managing any fleet issues, as well as evaluating employee performance.
* Work with the Senior Management Team, Client, and Local Authority to agree on the extent of works and maintain relationships throughout.
* Maintain positive relationships with clients, addressing any concerns or requests promptly and professionally.
* Encourage and enable personal development within your team.
* Work closely with planning and scheduling teams to ensure effective resource allocation, job prioritisation, and workforce coordination.
* Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the standards, policies, and procedures of Lanes Group and its customers.
* Lead and control Civils Operatives and Gangers engaged in civil works activities of the contract. Optimize resources with the assistance of the scheduling team.
* Manage the teams' fleet/plant and material requirements to ensure efficient and timely completion of works. Demonstrate good organisational skills, follow policies, procedures, and work practices, and develop improvements where necessary.
* Produce method statements and procedures. Read and understand specifications, drawings, and other discipline-related documentation. Keep records of all work completed and ensure client systems are updated in real time.
* Develop excellent working relationships with all department personnel and client management, commanding respect of the workforce.
* Communicate confidently with internal and external clients.
* Give instructions efficiently and manage daily team operations.
* Read and interpret drawings, including excavation dimensions, pipe and rebar angles, concrete mixtures, and understand shoring designs.
* Ensure crews are properly supplied, prevent wastage, and supervise work to optimise manpower and materials. Enforce discipline to prevent absenteeism, unsafe practices, and idleness.
* Follow all HS&E and Quality procedures and regulations strictly.
* Identify, formulate, and implement training programs for the workforce.
* Maintain the highest safety standards during all stages of work to avoid incidents or accidents.
About You
We are looking for individuals who:
* Have previous supervision experience within the Waste Water Industry.
* Hold a full UK driving license.
* Possess managerial experience, as this role involves managing people.
* Have excellent organisational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks.
* Possess exceptional customer service skills.
* Have excellent time management skills and can deliver tasks to deadline.
* Show strong leadership qualities to motivate and guide teams towards targets.
* Are proactive problem-solvers focused on achieving results.
* Have proven experience in a supervisory role within the Utilities Sector, preferably in Drainage.
Working Hours & Location
* Shift pattern: Monday to Friday, 47.5 hours per week.
* Locations: Malton, Aldwarke, Bradford, and surrounding areas.
* Company Car / Car allowance.
* 25 days holiday + Bank holidays.
