Role Overview
As a Designated Safeguarding Lead you will oversee safeguarding within the school, liaising daily with statutory and non‑statutory agencies, parents/carers and staff on matters of well‑being, child protection and safeguarding. You will serve as the primary source of support, advice and expertise for the team.
Key Responsibilities
* Collate and oversee safeguarding data to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
* Provide guidance and training to staff on safeguarding procedures.
* Coordinate investigations and support staff in responding to safeguarding concerns.
* Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of legislation, best practice and CPD in safeguarding and child protection.
* Act as the school's first point of contact for safeguarding queries.
Qualifications & Experience
* At least 3 years' experience in a Designated Safeguarding Lead role.
* Comprehensive portfolio of CPD related to safeguarding and child protection.
* Outstanding interpersonal and problem‑resolution skills.
* Genuinely empathetic approach required.
* Full UK driving licence.
