Secondary SEN Outreach Tutor
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Secondary SEN Outreach Tutor to deliver bespoke education packages on a 1:1 basis to young people who are currently not attending school in Buckinghamshire.
This role involves working with pupils who have Special Educational Needs (SEN), including those with social, emotional, and mental health challenges (SEMH) and other learning difficulties. Many of these students have been out of formal education for an extended period, so your ability to build trust, re-engage them in learning, and provide a structured, supportive environment is essential.
As an Outreach Tutor, you will:
1. Design and deliver individualised lessons that bridge gaps in learning and align with the national curriculum where appropriate.
2. Focus on improving confidence, engagement, and attainment.
3. Provide a safe and positive learning experience.

12. Minimum rate of pay – £25 per hour
13. Hours – Sessions typically range from 1 to 3 hours, with schedules tailored to pupil availability
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
14. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS, PGCE, or equivalent
15. Minimum 6 months’ experience working in a UK school setting
16. Experience supporting pupils with SEN and/or SEMH needs is highly desirable
17. Up-to-date Safeguarding training
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
18. Hold Right to Work in the UK
19. Possess an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or be willing to apply for one
20. Provide two professional child-related references covering the last two years
