Children's Residential Support Worker (Waking Nights)

We are a large and well established organisation caring for children and adults. Our Market Harborough service has 3 self-contained flats with the capacity to house up to 3 families at any one time. Families utilising this type of service may include parents with moderate to high learning needs, those presenting with issues around domestic violence, and or substance/alcohol misuse. Additionally, they may have experienced mental ill health and/or trauma. During their stay, the parents will be supported in their parenting by staff, whilst being assessed by Leicestershire County Council Children's Service.
Some of the responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
-To build trust and develop nurturing relationships which promote the service user's independence, wellbeing, strengths, and capabilities.
-To work in partnership and build relationships with parents/carers and other professionals.
-To contribute to the upkeep of the home including cooking, cleaning etc.
-To document information accurately and ensure records are kept up to date.
-To ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to.
-To promote, monitor and maintain a safe environment at all times.
What we’re looking for:
-Must hold the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare OR be willing to successfully achieve this within the required timeframe.
-Relevant experience working with children & young people and their families.
-Must have a good understanding of safeguarding and protection of children, young people & vulnerable adults
-Flexibility to commit to shift work, including weekends and bank holidays.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-There is an expectation for night staff to make themselves available during the day with advance notice at scheduled times to attend mandatory training and ongoing group supervision and consultation in line with duties related to their role.
