Role Overview
An opportunity has arisen to recruit a Housekeeper to work within the Emergency departments at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, hardworking Housekeeper who will work as an integral part of the team ensuring a clean, safe and comfortable environment at all times.
Key Responsibilities
* Apply excellent communication and organisational skills to work under non-direct supervision, prioritising your own workload.
* Maintain a high level of cleanliness within the department.
* Take ownership of the stock levels within the department, including ordering of stock.
* Liaise with and help patients throughout the working day, communicating with all levels of staff both face to face and over the telephone.
Qualifications and Experience
* Recent experience in cleaning duties and use of chemicals and equipment is essential, with an awareness of health and safety.
* IT literacy is required.
* Previous experience with stock control is desirable.
* Previous experience in a health care setting is desirable, with a commitment to developing yourself to support the nursing team in caring for patients and ensuring a positive patient experience.
