Reporting To: Metallic Production Supervisor
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Metallic Machinist (Turner) to join our dedicated manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-precision components using CNC turning equipment, supporting both prototype and low-volume production in a fast-paced, high-performance engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities:
 * Produce components efficiently and cost-effectively, minimising lead times while ensuring high standards of quality.
 * Collaborate with Toolpath Programming (TPP) to resolve machining challenges and optimise job setup or runtimes.
 * Liaise proactively with machinists and teams across the business to implement best practices.
 * Conduct thorough first-off inspections and monitor batch quality.
 * Accurately record production data using Data Collection Software.
 * Ensure effective handovers between shifts through clear, written, and verbal communication.
 * Maintain accurate documentation for repeatability and future production needs.
 * Contribute suggestions for improving efficiency, tooling, and production processes.
What Youll Bring:
 * Strong experience setting and operating Fanuc-controlled CNC lathes and/or turn-mill machines.
 * The ability to manually or conversationally program machines is a strong advantage.
 * Demonstrated ability to manage multiple machines and plan ahead in a high-accuracy, fast-turnaround environment.
 * Solid understanding of machining both metallic and non-metallic materials, including aircraft-grade alloys and engineering plastics.
 * Ideally, you will have completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship or have gained equivalent hands-on experience in precision machining.
