A client within the Public Sector based in Nottinghamshire is currently recruiting for a Head of Fire Safety & Asbestos to join their Compliance & Technical Services Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority in a residential or property compliance environment. The Role The key purpose of this role is to ensure that the organisation meets its legal obligations regarding fire safety and asbestos management, keeping residents safe, leading teams, setting policy, monitoring budgets, and overseeing programmes and contractors. Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to: • Lead the Fire Safety & Asbestos team to ensure compliance with regulatory, industry, and client requirements. • Represent the organisation with regulatory bodies and industry stakeholders. • Act as the ‘responsible person’ for effective management of fire and asbestos risk in residential properties. • Develop, implement, and regularly review compliance policies and procedures. • Oversee budgets, procurement, and contract management for fire safety and asbestos services.
