Part-time Specialty Dentist in Restorative Dentistry, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust with a special interest in endodontics. The successful candidate will be based at the Charles Clifford Dental Hospital, Sheffield. The full post entails 0.5 whole time equivalents. Starting salary to be based on experience.

Main duties of the job
The appointee will be expected to work independently under the supervision of one of the Consultants. They will be expected to have a good level of knowledge in the field of Restorative Dentistry. The post will involve delivering a core level of outpatient endodontic teaching. The successful candidate will work flexibly and cooperatively with the other members of the team in order to provide a high quality and comprehensive service within the Charles Clifford Dental Services Academic Directorate. There are no on-call responsibilities associated with this post.

Person Specification
Personal Attributes
* Good Written and oral communication skills
Teaching
* Willingness and ability to teach undergraduate and postgraduate trainees
Audit/Research
* An understanding of the issues of clinical effectiveness and audit
* Ability to critically assess published research and incorporate it into clinical practice where appropriate.
* Documented completed audits during training
Management and Clinical Governance
* Demonstrate and understanding of management & clinical governance issues
Qualifications/ Experience/ Entry Criteria
* Dental Degree from a recognised UK or overseas university or institution
* Qualifications required for post BDS (or equivalent)
* Full registration with the General Dental Council
* A minimum of 4 years full time postgraduate training (or equivalent gained on a part-time basis) at least 2 of which will be in a specialty training programme in the relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee in the specialty, or shall have equivalent experience and competencies
* MBBS or equivalent
* MFDS, MJDF, FDS or equivalent
* Wider experience in different Restorative Dentistry units
